hybrid footwear isn’t anything new but 2018 has brought that ideology to the forefront of the sneaker scene. Nike begun by unleashing an Air Max 97 upper transplanted above the midsole of an Air Max 1. now considered one of this year’s greatest releases, that design from Sean Wotherspoon was the start of an unstoppable trend.
It continued with bizarre creations from the radical Vapormax 97 to the surprisingly low-key Air Max 90/1. By merging two trainers into one, the mad scientists at Nike have managed to shine new light on famous silhouettes. The same can be said for the Air Max 97/ Tuned 1, a collection now available exclusively at Foot Locker UK.
Three colourways are up for grabs, all showcasing a seamless fusion of the Air Max 97 and TN. The look is far less shocking than you’d think yet still stands apart as a completely new design.
Premium leather uppers feature on these Foot Locker Exclusives and the classic wavy construct of the Air Max 97 is retained. chunky Air Units finish the look nicely along with famous Nike Air Max branding.
The Nike Air Max 97/ Tuned 1 is available in ‘Triple Black’, ‘Black Grey’ or ‘Grey’. Be sure to leave us a comment below and let us know your thoughts on this hybrid trainer.
